Generation Z's Campus Snacking Habits

Today’s college students are twice as likely to eat three meals plus snacks each day. From classes to meetings to activities, snacks are an ideal source of energy to keep students going throughout the day. Snacks are not only a treat, but they help students stay energized while on-the-go and provide them with breaks in their hectic schedules.

Snacking has become a normal part of a healthy diet as food flexibility becomes a top priority to students. College dining options must reflect these priorities to keep students satisfied.

The new generation expects snacks to be accessible and cost-effective while still meeting their snacking standards. By providing snack-sized portions, higher ed institutions can also benefit by capturing more meal plan sales.
